Wepecket Whisperings
Published sporadically when there's news.      Volume 1, No. 4; June, 2010

New release:

Jim McGrath's latest CD, "Last of the Romantics," is now available online here. He is ably accompanied by the very versatile Jim Bennett on guitar, mandolin and banjo. Other contributors are Kent Kreutler (piano), Don Barry (bass), Rochelle Vaillancourt (fiddle), Alec Redfearn (accordion) and a lusty chorus of gentlemen, several of whom prefer to remain anonymous.

On the road again:

Sherman Lee Dillon & the Dillonaires, Andru Bemis, Andy Cohen, Jim McGrath and Dale Robin Goodman all have busy summer schedules. We've updated our tour dates page to make it easier to find information about where and when artists are performing.

We'll be announcing dates for our Sept. short-version "Rolling Roots Revue" soon. Appearances in New York State and Pennsylvania so far.

We're also working on an Eastern Seaboard tour for next spring. If you have any thoughts about where we might stop along the I-95 corridor in late April, Early May 2011, drop us a note.

On the home front:

A team of high-powered Wepecket executives (Jim Bennett, Don Barry & I) has been working on a make-over of the web site. We've added information, music clips, videos and a photo album in addition to the aforementioned snazzy new tour dates page. Give us a click or two and tell us what you think.

Coming attractions:

Work has begun on "Pick a Peck of Piedmont Pickers," with selections from a wide range of modern masters of this delightful style of finger-picking. Among the contributors to this project are Andy Cohen, Mike Higgins, Russ Mello, Rick Palieri & Gareth Hedges, and Lauren Sheehan.

In September I'm headed west for some A&R work. Looking at some Northwest players of interest. Details when I get back.

Jack, and the gang at Wepecket Island.
